Gulph Creek Hotels Welcomes New General Manager
Wayne, PA September 23, 2010 – Gulph Creek Hotels is pleased to welcome Alexandra Zullo as the general manager of the Tidewater Inn in Easton, Maryland. Alex’s strong sales, marketing and operations experience with four-star independent hotels is an ideal match for the 100-room Tidewater Inn. The Tidewater Inn has undergone a complete makeover since Gulph Creek’s takeover in October 2009, including ballroom, restaurant, guest room, kitchen, meeting space, and lobby renovation and refurbishment. Since her arrival in June of this year, Alex has launched the new ballroom and restaurant, shored up operations and reignited community support for the Tidewater.
“The transformation of the Tidewater Inn through new ownership, management, and physical plant changes has breathed new life and energy into downtown Easton,” says Debbi Dodson, Executive Director of Talbot County Office of Tourism. “Since the arrival of Alexandra Zullo, the energy and environment of the Tidewater Inn has generated a height of excitement, professionalism, and quality of service that is befitting of the ‘Crown Jewel of Easton, Maryland’.”
Prior to joining Gulph Creek Hotels and the Tidewater Inn, Alex served as the Director of Sales and Marketing at the Harbor View Hotel & Resort and Kelly House in Edgartown, Massachusetts. Alex was responsible for sales, catering, revenue management and marketing of these iconic resort hotels in Martha’s Vineyard. She also served as Director of Sales at the Cranwell Resort & Spa in Cranwell, Massachusetts, Director of Operations for the Network Conference Company in Santa Clara, California and in food and beverage management positions with a number of hotels and free-standing restaurants.
Alex is uniquely qualified for this general manager position as she combines a strong operations background with sales and marketing experience at high-end independent hotels. “Having worked with Alex at the Harbor View, we knew that she loves to sell and is very effective, but we also knew she had great leadership skills,” says Derek Sylvester of Gulph Creek Hotels. “We needed and are now fortunate to have both skill sets at the Tidewater Inn.”
